Darren studied drama at university and then singing at the RAM post-grad vocal course and the National Opera Studio.

Since then, Darren has appeared in opera all over the UK and on the continent. His work has ranged from Jonathan Dove and Kurt Weill with The Opera Group and the Young Vic Theatre (a production which won the Evening Standard Award for best musical in 2008), to Purcell in Bologna, Rossini for  Welsh National Opera and Wexford Festival and Sweeney Todd in five Italian cities. Darren has performed new operas for The Royal Opera, The Genesis Project, Almeida Opera, Tête à Tête and Complicité.

He regularly sings oratorio and recitals with the LPO, the Royal Seville Symphony, the St Petersburg Symphony, the Houston Symphony and The King’s Consort.

Alongside his high-profile work Darren has always loved performing cabaret, musicals and pop songs. This is an exiting new collaboration with the jazz guitarist Jack Ross.
